FrontlineXP was founded by Rob Bate and Chris Love, two experienced executives with over 50 years combined in retail, hospitality, and workforce transformation. After leading large-scale programmes across the UK and US, they saw a growing problem many organisations were missing. While investment in technology and central transformation was booming, the frontline was being left behind, overwhelmed by complexity, disconnected systems, and processes that no longer worked.

Rob and Chris launched FrontlineXP to close this gap. Their vision was clear: build a consultancy that unites technology, operations, and employee experience to deliver measurable results. They believe the frontline holds untapped potential for productivity, performance, and innovation. At the heart of FrontlineXP is a commitment to the people who serve customers every day.

Rob Bate brings over 26 years of experience in retail and consulting, with a career dedicated to workforce transformation and operational excellence at scale.

From the shop floor to managing multiple stores, to joining the head office of Boots one of the largest retailers in the UK and Ireland. Rob held roles across Central Operations, Workforce Management, and IT Services, supporting complex projects and service rollouts across 3,000 stores and 60,000 colleagues.

In 2012, Rob joined REPL Group, where he led the global rollout of a Workforce Management system for Walmart, impacting more than 2 million associates across all operating countries.

Based in the US for over a decade, he worked with leading global clients including Walmart, Starbucks, Microsoft, Albertsons and Lululemon. Following REPL’s acquisition by Accenture, Rob became Managing Director, integrating his team into Accenture’s Workforce Management practice. Most recently, as Global Advisory Lead at Avanade, he helped clients unlock the value of Microsoft Copilot and generative AI for frontline teams.

Rob returned to the UK in 2023 to co-found FrontlineXP and help businesses transform frontline performance from the ground up.

Chris Love is a seasoned transformation expert with a background in IT and a proven track record of delivering large-scale change for tier 1 retailers and global enterprises.

He began his career in the hospitality sector before co-founding REPL Group, a leading consultancy that specialised in HR and Workforce Management transformation. Under his leadership, REPL grew rapidly from a start-up to a global premier boutique retail consultancy with 600 employees and was later acquired by Accenture.

With deep expertise in workforce technology, HR systems, and operational strategy, Chris has helped some of the world’s largest organisations drive impactful, enterprise-wide change.

As co-founder of FrontlineXP, he is focused on helping businesses unlock the full potential of their frontline operations through smart, scalable transformation.
